Now onto Mr. Mike Brown (Yes, I said Mr., not Coach - He is not deserving of that label). This guy has not a clue what's going on out there. He's lucked out to have Lebron on his squad which makes him look real good, good enough to get NBA Coach (Mr.) of the Year honors. It's such a disgrace to the people who actually know the game to watch this guy continually fold in the playoffs. He has let his team settle in watching, and i literally mean watch, Lebron with the ball. They come out with a fire under their tails, then by the 2nd half, its the Lebron show again.
Lebron is the best, without a doubt, but to be the best you need the supporting cast when it matters most. No one can stop him 1 on 1, but as a team, if you have 5 guys concentrating on Lebron and his every move, then the team can be stopped. In this case, no one else has stepped up to even make Lebron feel that when it matters most he can dish the ball and trust his teammates. All in all, this is Mike Browns fault.
I don't know how many of you watched the post-game interviews, but Brown made himself look stupid. If you know the game of basketball you would have looked at this guy and actually felt kinda bad for him because he had no idea what he was saying. This could have been the most awkward interview I have ever witnessed. Reporters were scrambling to come up with questions because they even knew how dumb this guy was. There were literally 3 different times where there was awkward silence and to my disliking, I had to stare at Brown's awkward mannerisms as he clammed up, hoping someone would ask him anything. Even the questions were horrrrrrible and easy, and he still managed to butcher every single one.
To go on with the interview... Brown was asked what they need to do different to win, he explained, "We have to give the same effort as we did tonight." Ok, well, one can never confuse effort with results. This is the NBA, not a CYO team. There are no moral victories at this level. He then was asked about the impact of DHow on the game, especially overtime. He responded, "Well I'm gonna have to go back and look at the tape to get an idea." Is he serious? Howard DOMINATED the Cavs in overtime with 10 of his 27 points. How could he miss that?? Next, he said, "The most important thing right now is Game 5". Thats true, but not from a coaching stand point. Thats a players response. Right now he's gotta figure out (obviously for Brown, it may take more than 1 day) how to play as a unit, not as a "Lebronit" ha ha ha. At this point Mike Brown has given me high hopes for my aspirations to one day coach in the NBA, or should I say, just have really good seats to every game. And to be really critical of the man.. he said Howard is shooting 83% from the free throw line in the past two games.. Sorry Mr. Brown - it's actually 75% (21-28).
Until next time...
